100 Miles for

Matagorda

38 families waiting. One underdog who won't stop until they're home.

38 families waiting. One underdog who won't stop until they're home.

The Mission

In Matagorda Village, Honduras, 38 families are holding on to hope waiting for a promise to be fulfilled. The promise is made up of things we take for granted – clean water, enough food, a home safe from flood waters, protection from the horrors of human trafficking, skills to generate an income and live sustainably.

These families have been counted out, passed over, and forgotten for decades. They've been waiting for someone to believe in them.

Clean Water

Right now, families in Matagorda Village walk miles to collect drinking water contaminated with bacteria and waste. A completed village means clean water inside every home.

Built to Last

It costs $7,800 to build one family a real home in Matagorda Village. A concrete floor. A roof that holds. A door to shut. Walls that keep floodwater out.

Enough to Eat

In Matagorda Village, hunger is a daily reality. Without stable income or reliable access to food, parents watch their children go to bed hungry more nights than not.

The Real Fight

Building homes in Matagorda Village isn't just about shelter. It's about protection. In Honduras, human trafficking preys on the most vulnerable – children and families with no safe place to go.

Their Stories

Casey and Edgar are 11. Marcelo is 13. They represent the children in Matagorda Village who still need something no child should ever have to live without: a safe home.

When it rains, these children don't simply worry about getting wet. They worry about contaminated water flooding their homes.

They don’t need help someday. They need a safe place to sleep, clean water to drink, and a home where rain no longer brings fear. Their parents deserve your help today because they can’t protect their children no matter how hard they try.

These are not statistics. These are real children waiting for someone to show up.

An Underdog Helping Underdogs

In 2007, Stuart Lynn was broke, 400 pounds, and barely keeping the lights on for his wife and eight children. But he knew that God had more for him, so Stuart kept going.

Today, he's lost 180 pounds, completed an Ironman and 50-mile ultramarathon, and runs three companies.

What drives him every day is the mission to make a difference so that the underdog can succeed.

In partnership with King’s Ransom Foundation, Beachside, and other generous donors, Stuart is helping rebuild Matagorda Village to give these families a better life.

And he needs your help.

On June 26, Stuart will take his place at the starting line of the Yeti 100, an ultramarathon across trails in the Cascades Mountains. He’ll have 30 hours to run 100 miles, and you can run the race with him by sponsoring a mile. When all 100 miles and eight milestone markers are sponsored, we’ll have enough to build two more homes in Matagorda Village.

Run With Stuart

There are two ways to run the
Yeti 100 with Stuart:

1

Sponsor a Mile for $78: Pick any mile/s you want. When all 100 miles are sponsored, we’ll have enough to build one home in Matagorda Village.

2

Sponsor a Mile Marker: For gifts ranging from $500 to $2,000, claim one of eight named mile markers along the course. Each one represents a critical piece of what we're building in Honduras.
